The farmer is a subject which generates income for the kingdom by working on a farm. The farmer is the kingdom's only reliable source of coins, aside from the merchant, which makes it a critical unit in terms of coin generation in mid and late-game. They seem to wear a bandana and a knitted sweater similar to that of a traditional farmer in medieval Europe.
Farmers can be recruited once the Kingdom has set up the wooden Town Hall in the center of town. A scythe merchant's stand will appear just to the right of the right-innermost wall. Nearby plain villagers will assume the role of farmer once they pick up a scythe.
Building farms Edit

The Monarch has to order the allocation of farmland for the farmers to do anything, otherwise they stand idly by the town center. Potential farmland appears as a small waterfall, and it costs 3 coins to set up. At day, a farmer will plow and work his field near the waterfall. By nightfall, if the farmer's respective farm hasn't been upgraded to have a shelter built, the farmer will retreat to the center of town. If there is a shelter, the Farmer will idle inside it at nighttime, whether it's safe or not.
When winter comes, farm production slows to a halt. About a day after first snow, farmers abandon their farms and return to the center of town. A couple days later, they throw their scythes in the river and assume new roles.
newlands In Kingdom: New Lands: A farmer costs 1 coin to recruit from a vagrant vamp and 4 coins for his scythe. Basic farmland area costs 3 coins to set up, and upgrading costs 8 coins to build a farmhouse. Actual farming plots are free, and each farmer designates his own square. A farmer is limited to one field at a time, and no other farmer may till from that field. 4-6 coins can be expected from each harvest.
classic In Kingdom: Classic : A farmer costs 1 coin to recruit from a vagrant camp and 5 coins for his scythe. Basic farmland area costs 5 coins to set up, and upgrading costs 8 coins to build a farmhouse. Actual farming plots are free, and each Farmer designates his own square. A farmer is limited to one field at a time, and no other farmer may till from that field. 4 coins can be expected from each harvest.
